Oh say can you see, by the dawn's early light, what kept us so fearful through the long, troubled night. And what's that over there on the nursery chair it could be the bogey man or just your teddy bear.
And oh what a storm Did it keep you awake when the lightening forked and the thunder made things shake. Did you see the dark shapes looking just like big apes or could they have been just the billowing drapes.
Now the long night is over and I suppose we're all right but I hope there will never again be such a terrible night. Oh sister please answer your silence I can't bare. I look to her bed space My sister's not there. |
